Can I attest a copy/photocopy of my documents?

In most cases, we require the original document for legalisation. However, we can also legalise certified copies, provided the solicitor who certified the copy is registered with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

A certified copy is a duplicate of the original document with an endorsement confirming that it is a true copy. It's important to note that this certification only verifies the accuracy of the copy, not the authenticity of the original document.

For documents such as educational certificates and commercial documents, we typically create a certified copy and proceed with legalisation on that copy. Legalisation can also be done on the original document, although this is not a legal requirement.

Please note that uncertified photocopies cannot be legalised.
